This World War I hexagonal thinking activity is a fantastic review activity. Students work in groups to sort and connect hexagonal cards containing the unit’s main concepts.
We did this activity in other units using names, vocabulary, events, battles and dates related to the unit too.
I gave my students 5 minutes to make as many connections as they can in the allotted time. This is a fantastic review tool and a good strategy for building collaborative skills within the group.
Depending on the available time, at the end you could spend some minutes sharing the connections they established and asking them to explain aloud to the group.
This activity is excellent for building collaborative skills, strengthening and deepening understanding of content, and utilizing different learning styles! Your students will be engaged and having fun!
